Tigh Mhor is a superb purpose-built four bedroom house in a good-sized garden and with partial views to the Morvern hills with glimpses of the sea. It is very well equipped, light, airy and spacious with an upstairs lounge. It has efficient oil heating—underfloor downstairs and radiators upstairs, also a woodburning stove in the lounge. One ensuite double bedroom, two further bathrooms and three further double/twin bedrooms (four in total). Connel has an excellent shop and Post Office and a good selection of hotel/restaurants within a few miles. The ferry/fishing port of Oban is just 5 miles.

Accommodation

Tigh MhorTigh Mhor is designed to comfortably accommodate up to eight persons in four bedrooms.

On the ground floor there is one twin and one double bedroom, a bathroom (bath with shower over, toilet and wash basin), a dining room open to a well equipped kitchen—including dishwasher—through to utility room with washing machine and tumble drier. On the first floor is a spacious open plan lounge with wonderful outlook and wood burning stove. Also ensuite master bedroom, one twin bedroom and shower room with shower, toilet and wash basin.

Locality

Plot with views of the Morvern HillsOutside there is a good-sized garden with garden furniture for comfortable outside dining and parking for two cars in the drive.

There is plenty to do and see in the area with excellent walking in the immediate vicinity and Glencoe only about 30 miles away. The area has a rich history and there are many sites open to the public with more to find by exploring. Boating, fishing, riding and golf are available locally and many beautiful gardens open to the public.

The weather on the coast is generally much better than you might expect but there is no shortage of wet weather pursuits if necessary, Oban has a sports centre with swimming and other sports and there are many less strenuous indoor interests such as distilleries and country houses to visit. There are a number of excellent places to eat not far away, two or three within walking distance.

The ferry/fishing port of Oban is approximately 5 miles where you can find a large Tesco and other grocery and specialist shops as well as a wide selection of restaurants. Ferries leave here for Mull. Iona and several other islands which can be visited for the day.

Other information

For Tigh Mhor we ask for a £200 deposit.  £100 of this is deductable from the final payment, the other £100 is kept as a good housekeeping deposit.  We will return this as soon as we find the cottage left in good order. The balance of the rental should then be paid six weeks before the start of your holiday.

Short breaks may be available out of season or at short notice – ask for details.

Tigh Mhor is priced for six, we have a 10% surcharge per person over this number (max occupancy eight).

We do not currently accept pets in Tigh Mhor.
